Autopsy of Late Singer, Mohbad Completed, Says Police

The autopsy conducted on the remains of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been completed, says the Nigeria Police.

This was disclosed by the Police spokesman in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Thursday,  via a post on his verified X handle.

While the procedure was successfully completed, he said the Police was awaiting the result.

The post reads thus “The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the public that the autopsy procedure for Mr Mohbad has been successfully completed. Further information will be provided as soon as the result is out”.

According to Medical News Today, an autopsy is a procedure performed by forensic pathologists to discern someone’s identity, determine the cause and manner of death, and estimate when death occurred.

It however stated that not all autopsies yield clear findings.

This aligns with the reactions of some practitioners who have expressed concerns about the accuracy of the autopsy conducted on an exhumed body after days of burial.

They are of the opinion that the since the autopsy was conducted after the body has been buried, the possibility of detecting the actual cause of natural death is slim.

Chigozirim Aliyu Emeakayi, an X user  with the handle @GoziconC queried the action thus ” You exhumed a body that was not embalmed? A body that could have decayed beyond any medical examination?

“All these shalaye is for social media validation. No theory proves a body buried for two weeks can be examined for autopsy, you are only waisting your time, officer”

Pharmanewsonline reports that the remains of Mohbad, who died on 12 September, at the age of 27 years was buried on 13 September, at Gberigbe, Ikorodu.

His corpse was exhumed on Thursday, 21 September, sequel to series of protest across the country calling for justice for the late singer, as there are several indications that he was murdered.
